codeblocks-common software package provides common files for Code::Blocks IDE, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install codeblocks-common
codeblocks-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the codeblocks-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep codeblocks-common *
You will get with codeblocks-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
